About Myself

My name is Alex Ahlstrom, I am from San Antonio, Texas, speak and write business-level fluent Mandarin Chinese, live in Germany and am preparing to graduate with a master’s degree in International Finance from the Berlin School of Economics and Law in August of 2019. I can legally work in the EU, China or the United States and am willing to travel for a good opportunity.

Recent Career Accomplishments

Most recently, I was part of a team of 4 at the EB5 Group. From October 2015 to April 2018, our team raised more than USD $200mm in investment immigration equity financing from across Asia, with a focus in China. We used the equity to refinance bridge loans in 7 projects, including 5-star hotels, US Federal Government Hospitals, apartment complexes across the west coast of America. As the only team member not in the United States, I was the point of contact for all of the company sales accounts in Asia. A highlight was when I hosted a meeting with Chinese investors in Beijing, China to successfully take control of the $200mm Potala Tower in Seattle, USA. Much of my work centered on training Chinese salespeople to sell our real estate investments and helping with closing sales of customers.

Previously, I worked with Chinese and American real estate developers, a Chinese wealth management company and a Chinese interior design company. At the wealth management company, my position was to find assisted living facilities, market them in Mandarin in China, prepare visits for investors to visit the facilities and then manage the facilities.

Education Background

I was given a full scholarship to attend the International Finance Master’s Program at the Berlin School of Economics and Law. This is a highly competitive program, with an acceptance rate of around 10%. The largest employers of graduates are Mercedes Benz and BMW. I will be graduating in August of 2018 and am writing my master’s thesis on Chinese FDI into the United States. After graduation, I am legally allowed to find employment in Germany.

For my bachelor’s studies, I graduated with a degree in Global Business from the University of Redlands, a school ranked in the top 7% of schools in America by the Princeton Review.
